How did YOU spend YOUR Summer?
The 2012 Summer Marching Practices have wound down and.... the mission thought impossible is now complete! The students have endured Two-A-Days and many new changes for the coming year. The freshmen can now actually march and play at the same time. The upperclassmen have stepped up into leadership roles. Many memories have been made, much work has been done, and a lot of learning has been accomplished. And now, School Starts Monday! The Band is Ready!
This year's Band and Dance Team are all set to represent our town of McGregor in a big way. Head Band Director, Tim Grace has proclaimed "We are off to a Great Start" for the 2012-2013 marching season! Director of the Golden Flames Dance Team, Darlene Arp says she is very happy with the enthusiasm of all the girls. This year's theme is "I Spy". We encourage everyone to come out to the football games this season to see what this is all about. You're sure to recognize some of the tunes they'll be playing from your favorite spy movies. Please come out and support these wonderful kids. Be a Band Booster!

Meeting Notes July 23, 2012
Monday night July 23 was our 2nd Booster Club meeting in preparation for the 2012-2013 school year. We had a good turnout of around a dozen willing and eager parents, a few students, along with our new High School Principal, Robert White, on hand to assist Tim Grace and Darlene Arp with plans.
At this stage our club is still not well organized. But the level of interest and participation Monday was an indication that we can do good things for the McGregor Band and Dance Team students. Many have stepped up to take on jobs to help Tim and Darlene achieve their immediate and short term needs. As the school year gets rolling, we expect more participation from other parents and citizens. And with increased participation and help from willing and able members we will do great things in the future.
It is time to roll up our sleeves and lend a helping hand. 2012-2013 is on course to be a productive and fun year for all involved.

The Booster Club is Back!!!
A meeting was held June 5, called by the new head band director, Tim Grace. Seven parents of band students were in attendance. Some exciting things are developing from that night. Tim provided
an outline for the meeting and planted some seeds, asking for parents to get involved in helping the band program. He told us of some really neat plans, outlined the changes that are coming, and gave us an optimistic outlook for the future of the Band program. He assured us that he needs our help to make the
program everything it can be for the good of the students. The attendees all had good ideas and positive input.
The result was a boost of momentum for rebuilding the McGregor Bands Booster Club. And best of all the consensus was that the parents are behind Tim Grace and want to back him in his plans for the future of the Band program.
The discussions
went 2 hours long. A motion was made and approved that the booster club
is back. Right now it is made up of those who were at the meeting. But,
the attendees are pumped about growth and getting things rolling. Several people left the meeting with a list of action items. It seems we are off to a wonderful start.
